Isaiah 29:18 Project
"And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness." Isaiah 29: 18

Several years ago, a volunteer helper at Bible Way Press approached Pastor Wright with a question. He was asked if we had thought about whether someone would have difficulty reading the material we were printing, not because they couldn't READ it, but because they couldn't SEE it! With the vast numbers of Americans who need a little help from the reading glasses they get from the local department stores, it became obvious that there were thousands of people all over the world who were perhaps literate but didn't possess the means or opportunity to obtain or afford magnifying reading glasses to help with dimming vision.
That's when the Isaiah 29: 18 Project was born. The first part of the verse speaks of HEARING issues, while the latter part of the verse speaks of SIGHT issues. We will possibly expand this project in the future to assist with the hearing needs of individuals. Right now, though, the Project is tasked with assisting with the sight needs of individuals around the world.
Simply put, we are able, in quantity, to purchase over-the-counter, nonprescription, magnifying reading glasses from various sources for often less than $1.00 per pair. So for a little more than $1.00 per pair we can purchase AND ship quantities of these glasses to missionaries and other ministries both in America and abroad.
We have sent glasses to ministries in Egypt, India, Africa, American Indian reservations in North America, and Romania to name a few.
